A deeply disturbed photographer and Vietnam veteran, named Kirk Smith, terrorizes Los Angeles by going around strangling lingerie-clad young women in their homes while taunting Lindsay Gale, a young psychologist, by calling her on a radio call-in show to describe his sexual hang-ups and misogynistic ways, while a local police detective, Lt. McCable, is always two steps behind in trying to catch the psycho.

Nick Parker was a Vietnam vet who got blinded during the war. He would be found by one of the local tribes. They would teach how to handle a sword. He would eventually become quite good with it. He would then return to the States and would visit an old Army buddy. When he gets there, he discovers that he and his wife are divorced. What they don’t know is that he (his friend) was playing in a crooked casino in Vegas, and accumulated a large debt. The owner’s willing to forget his debt, if he does something for him. His friend is a chemist and they want him to make some designer drugs, and in order to make sure he does it they try and kidnap his son. But lucky Nick is there, Nick saves his son but not his wife. He and the boy begin a road trip for Vegas to save his father, with the owner’s people in pursuit.

Andrew Norris arrives at a rundown high school to teach music. The only problem is is that there are a group of drug dealing thuggish students led by a piano genius Peter Stegman who are determined to continue doing business in the school, and teach a lesson to anybody who thinks about getting in their way!

In 2019, Lincoln Six Echo and Jordan Two Delta are best friends in a repressive and intriguing society, where everybody expects to win the lottery. The prize is to move to a paradisaical island outside the domes that protect the dwellers against the contaminated environment. Jordan wins the lottery, and Lincoln accidentally finds the scary truth behind the Utopian award: they are clones, generated to provide replacement organs and parts to the owners of insurance policy.

In the first story directed by John Landis (a vague remake of the Twilight Zone episode “A Quality of Mercy”) a loud-mouthed bigotted businessman (Vic Morrow) with an intense hatred for Jews, blacks, and Asians, gets the tables turned on him when he walks out a bar and is inexplicably transported back in time to being pursued by Nazis in 1940’s France, then as an African-American at a KKK rally in the 1950s Deep South, and as a Vietnamese in 1960s Vietnam. The second story directed by Stephen Spielberg (a remake of ‘Kick the Can’) an old man (Scatman Crothers) arrives at a retirement home and makes the wishes of the residents come true when he magically transforms them into youthful incarnations of their days gone by. The third story directed by Joe Dante (a remake of ‘It’s a Good Life’) a young woman on the road (Kathleen Quinlan) gives a ride to a mysterous 10-year-old boy (Jeremy Licth) to his house and ends up trapped with other people in an alternate reality created by the boy’s imagination. The fourth story directed by George Miller (a remake of ‘Nightmare at 20,000 Feet) stars John Lithgow as an passenger on an airline whom sees, but cannot convince anyone, a mysterious creature on the outside wing of the airplane trying to sabotage the aircraft.

Teacher Johnny Smith gets in a horrible accident which forces him into a coma for five years. Once Johnny wakes up, he discovers he has the ability to read a person’s life just by making physical contact with them. When the local police find out about Johnny’s “powers”, they bring him in on a murder case. Soon Johnny’s abilities gets him into more trouble then he may be able to handle.

While 12-year-old Mark Evans is at his mother’s side as she’s dying of cancer at a hospital in Arizona, she makes him promise her that she won’t die. When she does die, Mark is consumed with grief, and is also guilt-ridden because he couldn’t keep his promise to her. Shortly after, Mark’s father Jack is assigned to take a two week business trip to Tokyo, Japan. Thinking that the blustery Maine environment will do Mark some good, Jack leaves Mark with Jack’s brother Wallace Evans in Maine while Jack is on his trip. Wallace and his wife Susan have a son Mark’s age named Henry and an 8-year-old daughter named Connie. Wallace and Susan’s 3-year-old son Richard died by drowning in the bathtub a few months ago. At first, Mark and Henry get along great, but Mark begins to notice that Henry’s ideas of fun differ significantly from his own. Henry threatens to topple Mark from a 15 meter high tree house, and Henry shows Mark his dummy, named “Mr. Highway”, which Henry drops from an overpass onto a highway, causing a 10-car pileup. Later, Henry uses his homemade crossbow to kill the neighbor’s dog. Henry also insinuates that Richard’s drowning was not an accident. But Henry’s perfect son facade is so convincing that no one believes Mark. Everyone is convinced that Mark is just acting out the trauma of his mother’s death. Mark knows that Henry drowned Richard in a fit of jealousy because it seemed to Henry that Susan and Wallace were giving Richard the most attention. Also, Mark believes that his mother has been reincarnated in Susan, and he makes the mistake of telling Henry about it. Fueled by more jealousy than ever before, Henry’s reign of terror escalates, and he hints to Mark that he plans to kill Connie for the same reason why he killed Richard. But even after Connie survives a suspicious ice skating accident, Mark’s fears are still dismissed. And then Susan discovers Henry’s secret playhouse, and she finds the rubber duckie that was missing from Richard’s bath on the day of the drowning. Now that Susan knows the truth, will she save her nephew or her own son?

Bud Corliss is an ambitious college student with big plans for himself and an heiress, Dorothy Kingship. But then Dorothy goes and gets herself pregnant. It’s his child, too, of course; but this ruins everything. Her moralistic father will disown her and will certainly never accept him. It seems he’s trapped. Bud’s mother knows something is troubling her son, but he won’t talk to her about it. All she knows is that Bud doesn’t want to turn out like his father, with holes in his shoes. He doesn’t have to worry. As his mother says, when he turns his mind to something, he does it. Unknown to her, his thoughts have turned to murder.
