She debuted as an actress in theater of the United States in the following plays: 'Santos & Santos' (1996); 'Everyman' (1995-96); 'The Crucible' (1995); 'Henry IV, Part II' (Illinois Shakespeare Festival, 1995-96); and 'The Macbeth Project' (1994), where she appeared as Lady Macbeth. On this time, John Malkovich and Sam Shepard developed drama and acting projects in the Theater Faculty. Since her return to México (1997) she acted in the short films 'Nic Habana' (1997), directed by María Fernanda Suarez, and 'Table Dance' (1997), directed by Gerardo Pardo; both produced by MVS Televisión. She has also worked with Pedro Damián on the soap opera Traviesa. "Sexo, pudor y lágrimas (1999)" is her first major feature film. With this film she had her breakthrough as as movie star. Suárez is dating fellow actor Gael García Bernal.
