Partially raised in the United States, Stephen made his acting debut in Forbidden Nights (1990), playing the childhood version of the male lead. Stephen went to the University of Michigan where he earned his degree in graphic design. In the mid-90s, he returned to Hong Kong where he would form the band "Dry" with Mark Lui. He would continue his acting career in Hong Kong, with successful films like "Gen-X Cops" and its sequel "Gen-Y Cops". In 1999, Stephen released his solo album, "Not Enough Love". In 2004, Stephen made his directorial debut with Enter the Phoenix.
