Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the first film in the Harry Potter series based off the novels by J.K. Rowling. It is the tale of Harry Potter, an ordinary 11-year-old boy serving as a sort of slave for his aunt and uncle who learns that he is actually a wizard and has been invited to attend the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is snatched away from his mundane existence by Hagrid, the grounds keeper for Hogwarts, and quickly thrown into a world completely foreign to both him and the viewer. Famous for an incident that happened at his birth, Harry makes friends easily at his new school. He soon finds, however, that the wizarding world is far more dangerous for him than he would have imagined, and he quickly learns that not all wizards are ones to be trusted.

Character actors Stephen Dorff and Bob Hoskins star in the crime thriller DEN OF LIONS. Hoskins plays Darius Paskevic, leader of an arm of the ruthless Russian mob in Budapest. Mike Varga (Dorff) ingratiates himself into Darius’s inner circle, eventually becoming the gangster’s favorite prodigy and lover to his beautiful daughter Katya. But what Darius doesn’t suspect, and what puts Mike in grave danger, is that his new golden boy is in fact an undercover government agent. DEN OF LIONS is like an international version of DONNIE BRASCO.

A pre-fame Beatles head for the seedy clubs of Hamburg in search of success. The band meet up with a group of trendy German beatniks, one of whom (Astrid Kircherr) bass guitarist Stuart Sutcliffe falls in love with. Whilst best friend John Lennon can only watch, Sutcliffe has to choose between rock ‘n roll and a new life in Germany…

Tony Scott torna alle atmosfere thriller e senza tregua delle sue opere precedenti con un film tutto giocato sulla critica alle possibili privazioni della libertà del cittadino comune da parte dello Stato. Robert Dean è un giovane e promettente avvocato, che si trova coinvolto in un assurdo gioco di spie, perché un vecchio amico di scuola gli infila fra i regali di Natale un dischetto contenente le immagini di un omicidio commesso da un dirigente ambizioso e senza scrupoli della National Security Agency (potente organismo governativo responsabile delle operazioni spionistiche più complesse). La vita del protagonista è sconvolta e continuamente in pericolo. Un ex agente della NSA, interverrà in aiuto del giovane. Dopo essere sfuggiti numerose volte alla morte, i due si salveranno in un finale pieno di suspense e…con un po’ di furbizia! Grande cast e grande azione per un film solido e ben girato.
