show all Born Beuliss K. Banner, in New Orleans in 1943, He is better known to a cult following of music fans as Buxx Banner or "The Buxxer." The early years of Banner's life are sketchy, however it has been confirmed that he graduated from high school in Plano Texas in 1960, and shortly after entered the military. After a tour in Vietnam (1964-65) Banner hit the music scene in Southern California with a folk-rock group known only as "Banner." The group broke up in 1968, after only marginal success. In 1970, he formed the "Buxx Banner Experience" a psychedilic-acid-rock band sounding very much like "the Doors." Thru the late 70s and early 80s, Banner busied himself as a session player in various bands, along with several trips to drug and alcohol rehab centers. In 1988, he formed "Major G and The G-Men, a head-banging, sometimes rap, often oldies revue that traveled extensively throughout California and Oregon. The group achieved cult status with its two very controversial tunes "Bagdad Rap" and "New World Order." Banner seemed to find the perfect working band this time, with Mic Nuggette, Tonto Clarkton, and sometimes Steven Wymouth English, the late Gator Brown, and Daryl Marx. Dissarray was Banner's only stab into movies, although it has been rumored that as a child he appeared as a bit player on many TV series. Banner is currently in semi-retirement in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
