Biography: Raised in Iowa and initially a pianist, Kathryn Marlowe was brought to Hollywood by Fred Astaire to join him at RKO studios. Unfortunately, Ginger Rogers' mother, an RKO wardrobe executive, put a political stop to that. After feeling underutilized by the studio, she moved back to the stage. After a brief marriage to band leader Roy Fox, from which she had two children, she moved back to Iowa to raise her family. She served as production manager (as Kay Rea) at KTVO TV in Iowa.
