His acting career started somewhat unexpectedly when he was cast to play lead in the award-winning feature 'Europa, Europa' in 1989. The same year Marco played a disabled boy in the German TV play 'Hurenglück'. After taking actors classes in Berlin und Paris he played the title role in French-American co-production 'Foreign Student' 1993. In 1994 Marco moved to Los Angeles where he played in 'The Immortal Beloved' (with Gary Oldman), in 'DNA' (with Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer), and in 'Urban Legends - The Final Cut'. In Germany Marco could be seen in '008 - Agent wider Willen', 'Die Cleveren', 'Autobahnpolizei', 'Wolffs Rrevier', 'Tatort', 'Ein Fall für Zwei', and other TV features. On stage he performed as Romeo in 'Romeo and Juliette' and as Constantin in 'The Seagull' (in German). In 1997 Marco began taking directors classes at the University of California, and subsequently enrolled in studies of photography. As an actor, Marco's most recent performance was in 'Luther'. Marco is a scuba diving enthusiast and likes to play piano. Lately he has picked up guitar and aikido.
