show all Jelynn Rodriguez, is best known for hosting the wildly popular show "The Drop" on the cable network SiTV, now in its second season and recently nominated for an Imagen Award for Best Variety Special. Add to that her new spot hosting on the TV Guide Channel, and Jelynn is building a busy and successful career. This native Southern Californian is truly the All-American girl - athletic, smart, articulate, spirited and gorgeous. Jelynn has quickly become an audience favorite interviewing top celebrities and dishing the top trends in music and culture. She is also currently starring in a Suzuki campaign, where they "tricked out" a car (Barbie meets Marilyn Monroe) exclusively for her. Jelynn's entertaining career started at the tender age of three when she commanded the stage at a cultural festival in San Diego, belting out Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love of All" and "Cabaret," much to the delight of the thousands of audience members watching her. Over the next seven years, Jelynn continued singing solo throughout San Diego County until she formed a group with her three younger sisters called, "The Rodriguez Sisters." Jelynn also discovered she desired to be more than just a singer. Blessed with an innate sense of movement, and, after years of training in tap, ballet, modern, jazz, and Filipino folk dance, she was introduced to hip hop. Her passion for hip hop dance grew until she hoped to pursue it professionally and auditioned against 300 applicants for one of the few slots open to dancers at a Los Angeles talent agency. She left the audition with a contract. She continued to evolve as an artist by recording a vocal demo and honing an explosive stage presence combining hot and sharp dance moves with a pop/urban/funk/rock sound, which culminated in an invitation to perform before a standing room only audience at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Jelynn then put the final piece of her puzzle together by exploring acting. She jumped into intense training, classes and coaching and once again, discovered that she had real skill and ability in this arena as well. Jelynn's hard work, dedication and persistence is paying off. Prior to her work on "The Drop", Jelynn earned her TV chops on a local San Diego television show, "The Beat," where she hosted segments of "What's Hot in San Diego". She credits her ability to succeed with a pragmatic view of her world combined with a constant sense of gratitude and states, "Life is too short, and I am going to make the most of what God gave to me. I want to entertain the world in every way." As the host of "The Drop", Jelynn is able to combine her background as a singer, dancer and actress in a unique package that is quickly causing a buzz in Hollywood and beyond. With the addition of her hosting job at TV Guide Channel, Jelynn is one star on the rise.
