show all Randy Austin was born in Baton Rouge. While studying White Crane Gung Fu and participating in numerous demonstrations, he found performing in front of an audience much to his liking. He caught the acting bug in 1992 while in Houston, Texas participating in a Kick Drugs Out of American Foundation Fund-raiser, with Chuck Norris and the rest of the cast of the feature film, Sidekicks. At that time he envisioned himself being a martial art action star; however, as he learned the craft of acting through classes and stage work, he found himself more interested in good characters, rather than kicking and punching. While he does not rule out the martial art roles, it's not what drives him. He does continue to study, train and teach martial arts. In his first film, Tempted, directed by Bill Benett, Randy worked with one of his favorite film actors, Burt Reynolds. He feels blessed to have been able to meet and work with a lot to tremendously talented people, cast and crew. Randy recently worked on Deja Vu, directed by Tony Scott, and feels that his feet have still not touched the ground. He continues to try to grow as an actor and looks forward to, what he hopes to be, a busy future in film.
