show all D'Monte is a burgeoning and versatile young entertainer with talents in acting, writing, creature design and art/illustrations. He recently wrapped filming of the Indie-feature film 'Three Stories' in London, where he held the co-starring role of Mike, the Mechanic. D'Monte presently continues to work as one of the pencillers and conceptual designers for Headstart Entertainment's graphic novel, 'Gate of the East Wind'. D'Monte made his film acting debut in the movie 'Recoil' (2001). His next acting opportunity, through a humorous and interesting turn of events, was in the Indie feature(Independent Film) 'Vampires Anonymous' (2003). While working on the film as a storyboard artist, D'Monte began cracking jokes with the film's Director/Producer Michael Keller. Keller brought D'Monte back in to read for the role of the quirky, lovelorn vampire, Juan Rodrigo, and wound up beating out 12 other actors for the role. He has spent the last several years working in many various capacities for the entertainment industry with acting, writing, illustrations, character design and in-house storyboards. D'Monte has worked on in-house storyboards for Dreamworks SKG Interactive and Disney TV Animation. He got a lucky break and picked up a position as a storyboard artist at Brilliant Digital, and was a comic book artist and penciller for the indie-book 'Pilot & Sunshine: Dead Reckoning'. He had a wonderful opportunity as a freelance creature designer for Universal's 'The Mummy' with Brendan Fraser. Among his many film and entertainment endeavors, D'Monte is continuing to act and read for lead and supporting roles in major and Indie (Independent) motion pictures. At the same time he is currently writing two horror movie screen plays, and one action/adventure treatment for two major Hollywood film companies. He was born Neil Anthony D'Monte in Chicago, Illinois, on June 30, 1971. D'Monte was raised in Chicago's Andersonville area, by his mother who worked with the Jack Daniel's company (and who holds a P.H.D in piano), and his father who worked with Air-Wize as a heating and air-conditioning installation professional, (and who also happens to be a guitarist and sculptor). With talented, artistic parents like these, it is no surprise that he is a naturally gifted artist and musician with a love for art, music, film, writing and entertainment. D'Monte enjoyed his wild and rebellious days in high school as a musician playing drums and percussion for the punk band "Pride" and also playing rhythm guitar for the band "Feedback". He also played drums for the Joy Division cover band "Closer" where he used his unique style of drums influenced by Tommy Lee of Motley Crue and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden. While performing with these bands, he was also taking classes at the Goodman Theater of Chicago, where he studied drama. D'Monte's early studies included theater and acting at The Edgewater Center of Dance and Drama in Chicago. He got an early taste of acting and television, with the 1981 ABC show An American Dream, where he played one of the students in the program. One of his greatest influences came from his friend Adam Marshall, who while attending Columbia College of Chicago, placed Neil in several of his student films, notably 'Assassins' and 'The Laughing Man'. D'Monte later continued with his love for film and entertainment while attending the University of Southern California, where he studied film in his spare time while receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Art and Illustration in 1995.
