Jonathan grew up in Mobile, Alabama. He moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of 20 where he earned a B.S. in psychology. He began doing improv comedy with Wayne Brady at SAK Theatre Comedy Lab. He then worked at Disney's Comedy Warehouse. In 1995 he moved with a group of improvisors to L.A. The group began performing as the Houseful of Honkeys.
