Pitoc) which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival in Dramatic Competition to great success. Trick was acquired by Fine Line Features and released in the summer of 1999. It was Fine Line's highest-grossing film of the year, and went on to be successfully released in many other countries all over the world by Good Machine International. Jim's studio directing debut, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, was released nationwide from Walt Disney Pictures in 2003. The movie opened second to Xmen the week of its release, made back its budget of 17 million over its first weekend, and went on to make 42 million domestically and 70 million on DVD. The film is a big-screen adaptation of the hit Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire, that combines the adventures of a live action, all-American 15 year old and her friends and family, with her cheeky animated alter ego popping in and out of the action. Teen Queen Hilary Duff, reprised her role from the TV show against a bigger canvas in the film, having adventures in Rome and in the international music video world. Jim recently directed two episodes of So NoTORIous, VH1's comedy starring Tori Spelling, and the A&E feature Wedding Wars, starring John Stamos and James Brolin, produced by Craig Zaden and Neil Meron. His New York theatre directing credits include The Most Beautiful Boy In The World; Blood Orgy Of The Carnival Queens! (co-writer); Cute Boys In Underpants Go To France; Christmas On Hell Island!; Chorus Girl On Mars!; Adult Themes Of A Sexual Nature; Breath; Extras; Zastrozzi - The Master Of Discipline; and the comedy team of Brickface and Stucco. He was resident director for the Vortex Theatre Company and served on their Board of Directors. He attended Temple University, followed by NYU's film school and also received a film scholarship from The Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts.
